About Allen
One thing that can be said about my life experience is that I have been very fortunate to have had a lot a great learning experiences. To be fair, I have been fairly aggressive in seeking them out. Whatever the reasons, the list of subject areas I have opportunity to explore is wide-ranging and the exploration has been a lot of fun. Those subject areas include:
- Traditional subject matter included in primary, secondary and under graduate education
- High level competitive athletics: track & field, swimming, cycling
- Law school, master’s (urban & regional planning) and doctoral (management systems) degrees
- Camping, hiking, rock climbing, skiing, canoeing, and a variety of other outdoor activities
- Leadership, management, management & organizational consulting
- Organizational design & development, performance improvement, large-scale organization & change management
- Coaching, mentoring, management education
- Firefighting (both structure and wildland firefighting), search & rescue, emergency medicine, emergency incident command and emergency preparedness
Along the way – by way of leading consulting teams and teaching classes in a variety of venues – I have had occasion to explain the elements and principles in some of these subject areas. This website includes some of the diagrams, lists and explanations I have found useful.
There is a curriculum vitae (CV) available to view and download if you wish.
